"Don’t leave home until you’ve seen your country” ...so the saying goes. With our wings clipped for International travel, it's great to see Kiwis getting out to some of the amazing spots we have right here in New Zealand.

For Farm To Farm, we’ve turned full circle. Our company originated over 30 years ago to cater for the travel inclinations of farmers - even earlier in the 70s and 80s when, as a farm adviser, Ross arranged tours from Canterbury to other corners of NZ for discussion groups. These trips provided a terrific stimulus and motivation for farmers to improve their own farms, often based on something they picked up from hosts or their enthusiastic travelling companions. The same holds true today.

Before Covid-19 struck, we mainly arranged international trips for our clientele. Travelling overseas certainly provides stimulus and a great understanding of global agricultural systems and markets for our products. However it is more difficult to crystallise the “take home messages” into action as conditions here are often so different. We also arrange inbound tours for international visitors but rarely for Kiwis - until now! We have often thought our own Kiwi farmers would enjoy the experiences we offer international visitors.

By visiting farms while exploring NZ, you may see things that may be applicable to your own farm - new or different ways of doing things, like some of the interesting stuff we see on Country Calendar or in rural media. It's a lot easier to transfer ideas within NZ than import from overseas! Before Covid-19 struck, we mainly arranged international trips for our clientele. The beauty of our tours is we get you up the driveways to meet great farmers and get the “good oil” about the rural life you love more directly. An added bonus is travelling when NZ is not overwhelmed with international visitors. You'll enjoy travelling on a coach with a smallish group - other Kiwis who you will likely have plenty in common with.

When Covid-19 diminishes or vaccines become available, things will change as we travel abroad again. Therefore "make hay whilst the sun shines", give us a call, book a tour and explore wonderful Aotearoa - country style! Far North, East Cape, Upper & Central South Island, Fiordland & Stewart Island, Chathams - take your pick or get a small group of family and friends together and let us know where you want to go!
