Our small and enthusiastic team has been creating travel experiences with a rural focus in New Zealand and across the globe for more than 30 years.
With our agricultural background and extensive network, our tours connect you with leading food, wine and fibre producers and enable farmers and the agribusiness sector to gain technical insights, attend events or simply enjoy a well-deserved break away from the farm! There's plenty to enjoy on the agri-tourism front too for our urban friends.
We are a proud founding member of Agricultural Tour Operators International (ATOI), a global body promoting quality special interest tours and partnerships. We are also members of Tourism Industry Aotearoa, the Tourism Export Council of New Zealand and endorsed by Qualmark; New Zealand Tourism’s official quality assurance organisation. We are committed to responsible tourism and strive to operate safe and sustainable tours exceeding our clients' expectations.
Meet Our Team
Ross and Linda Macmillan - Founders
Ross and Linda are the enthusiastic founders of Farm To Farm Tours. Ross graduated with a B.Agr.Sc. from Lincoln University and worked as a Registered Farm Management Consultant for many years. Ross recognized the need for farmers to travel and learn and established Farm To Farm Tours in 1987. Ross is also a registered member of NZIPIM (NZ Institute of Primary Industry Management).
Kirstie Macmillan - General Manager
Kirstie relishes the opportunity to ensure Farm To Farm's tours exceed expectations. Kirstie is proud to showcase New Zealand and she has travelled extensively, including organising and leading tours all over the globe. Prior to joining the family business, Kirstie practised law, however, her passion for Farm To Farm's niche travel was a catalyst for a career change and she hasn't looked back.
James Dixon - Technical & Agribusiness
With a B.Agr.Sc. from Lincoln University and a strong agribusiness background, James helps ensure the technical content matches the needs of our clients. James has farmed in Mid-Canterbury, managed a seed export company and run an agronomic and marketing consultancy. He is a member of NZIPIM and a Director of the Latin America New Zealand Business Council. With Farm To Farm Tours, he regards it a privilege helping Kiwis to see the world of agribusiness internationally, and introducing overseas visitors to our amazing primary sector here in New Zealand.
Desray Geursen - Travel Consultant
Desray is the friendly voice you'll often hear at the end of Farm To Farm’s phone line! As well as fielding enquiries, handling bookings and tour leading, Desray helps keeps day to day operations running smoothly. Desray and her husband live on a small farm near Rangiora so she is very much in touch with rural life, as well as having travelled extensively.
Rochelle Spark - Design & Support
Rochelle provides Farm To Farm with creative design input and support across the board. Rochelle and her husband are dairy farming in North Canterbury and assist with tour leading when busy farm and family life allows!
We also engage wonderful tour leaders, technical tour managers, foreign language guides and other specialists as and when required.
“The farm visits were extraordinary!”
We unanimously agreed it was the best group trip we had ever been on. We had the perfect balance of farms and towns etc but the farm visits were extraordinary! We could not fault the organisation and the stimulation we enjoyed through travelling with Farm To Farm Tours.

“Top notch farm and agricultural visits”
We have been working with Farm to Farm Tours since 2007. Our groups rave about the wonderful service, friendly people, top notch farm visits and breathtaking scenery. Farm To Farm’s ability to showcase the best of their country is most impressive. It is very evident that they have an extensive network throughout New Zealand with quality farm visits and ag related stops. The Farm To Farm tour managers always pay special attention to the individual passengers and have excellent knowledge about New Zealand agriculture.

“A wonderful way to see a country ”
The hospitality was exceptional. For us it was about travelling with like-minded people and the really good mix of farming visits and touring the regions that we were in... It is simply a wonderful way to see a country and meet the people who live there.
